DSP Bargaining

DSP Bargaining Update

Your bargaining team met with the State again yesterday. While we were able to reach agreement on a few minor items, we remain far apart on the major issues that directly impact our members, including wages and other matters affecting our communications centers and all State Police civilian employees.

Unfortunately, it has become increasingly clear that the State is approaching these negotiations with a predetermined agenda. Rather than engaging in meaningful discussions and working toward mutually acceptable solutions, management continues to act as though they know what is best for your division and has focused more on telling us what they are going to do than listening to the concerns and priorities of the employees who do the work every day.

Your bargaining team remains committed to fighting for a fair agreement. Additional bargaining dates have been scheduled for next week as we continue working to get a contract in place before the current agreement expires. We will continue to push back against attempts to impose decisions on our bargaining unit and will advocate for the issues that matter most to our members.

We understand that many of you are frustrated with the pace of negotiations, and we share that frustration. Now, more than ever, it is important that we remain patient, stay informed, and most importantly, stay united. Solidarity is our greatest strength. The State may have its objectives, but together we will continue to stand up for the interests of the men and women who keep these centers running and support the mission of the Delaware State Police every day.

As always, we will continue to keep the membership informed as negotiations progress.
